On, June 27 2017, Immaculate students took part in various activities to commemorate Canada’s upcoming 150th birthday such as beach ball soccer and building Inukshuks. Fun was hard by all students.

Immaculate Participates in National Aboriginal Day
Students at Immaculate heard various stories that outlined the history of Indigenous people. In addition, they participated in a whole school colouring contest and the winners were very proud of their work. Way to go Cougars!
Junior Girls at Immaculate Feel Empowered
Constable/Author Halley Willmott came to speak to the grade 5 and 6 girls about feeling empowered. Constable Willmott shared her personal journey while growing up and how she struggled to fit socially since she moved from school to school. As a result of that, Constable Willmott said that she found a love for reading and writing which led her to becoming a published author on top of being a police officer. Her message to the girls was that they all have gifts, talents and interests that they should embrace and that they are all valued and unique individuals.
Immaculate Girls Participated in Fit Spirit
Immaculate girls, along with staff, demonstrated their love of running at the Fit Spirit Run that was held on Sunday, June 4th. Even though it was cold and rainy, the cougars persevered and finished their race.
Sudbury Catholic Schools awarded as Stars of Excellence at 2017 Kiwanis Music Festival
Participant schools included Marymount Academy, St. Anne Catholic School, Holy Trinity Catholic School, Immaculate Conception, Holy Cross Catholic School, St.Benedict Catholic Secondary School, St. John Catholic School and St. Charles College.
The senior band and strings ensemble from Marymount Academy (pictured here) were recommended for the provincial competition.

To all parents of first time school bus riders
The Sudbury Student Services Consortium in cooperation with school bus operators invites all Kindergarten and first time bus riders to a School Bus Safety Awareness session to be held at College Boreal on 21 Lasalle Boulevard in Sudbury.

Paint Social at Immaculate
On the evening of Wednesday April 12, parents and staff participated in a paint social at Immaculate Conception. We had a great turn out for our first Paint Social. There were amazing talent all around. We might be a small school but we have big hearts and amazing support from our parents and community.
Immaculate Student Loves to Read
On February 16, superintendent Rossella Bagnato visited Immaculate Conception Catholic School. During Mrs. Bagnato’s visit, Daxson Szwed, a grade 3 student had the opportunity to show her how well he can read with fluency and much expression. Thank you Daxson for your enthusiasm towards literacy!
Family Literacy Day Fun at Immaculate
Students and their families celebrated Family Literacy Day at Immaculate Conception School on January 27th, 2017. From Winter Word Pictionary to a Winter Themed Kahoot game, the students participated in a range of fun and engaging activities that sharpened their literacy skills. Sarah Brosha and her daughter Cordelia enjoyed literacy activities together.
