Accessibility For Ontarians With Disabilities Act

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, or AODA, aims to remove and prevents barriers for people with disabilities.

The AODA requires all public sector organizations to meet Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) 2.0 AA Compliance. In order to meet these standards, we have implemented a variety of features including:

  1. On the right-hand side of your screen, there are high contrast and text size toggles. The high contrast toggle will change the background to black and text to white. The text size toggle will increase the size of the font. These features make it easier to read for persons with low vision.
  2. All photos have been applied with alternative (alt) text. Alt text allows users with vision loss and those using a screen reader to hear a description of a photo.
  3. The website is designed and programmed to function across all devices including mobile, tablet, and desktop. The website can be used across all browsers and with assistive technologies like screen readers.

As this is a new website, we will be continually testing the functionality to ensure it remains compatible with all devices and browsers. If you would like information in an alternative format or would like to submit your feedback you can contact the Sudbury Catholic District School Board by mail at 165A D’Youville Street, Sudbury P3C 5E7 or by phone 705.673.5620.
