St. Benedict Catholic Secondary Parent Interview Night and Book Fair FUNdraiser

St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School will be hosting a “Parent Interview Night and FUNdraiser,” on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, 2993 Algonquin Road, Sudbury.

The evening will be devoted to celebrating the achievements and activities of staff and students of the school. At the same time, the school will be encouraging and supporting the students in their love of reading through a Book Fair. With every purchase on this special evening, a percentage will be donated directly back to the school library.

There will be prizes, as well as a showcase of books and much more. Please join St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School in promoting this literacy and community event.

“The Fonz” to visit Sudbury as guest of the Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury

The Special Education Advisory Committee of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board in conjunction with the Learning Disabilities Association of Sudbury (LDAS) is pleased to announce that Henry Winkler, none other than “The Fonz” himself will be “Celebrating Rising Stars” on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Glad Tidings Tabernacle.

Don’t miss this opportunity to meet and hear from someone who struggled with a learning disability and managed to overcome this challenge to co-author a collection of children’s books and who is also the recipient of the United Nation’s Peace Prize.

St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School to Hold Book Fair March 25

St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School in conjunction with Chapters Book Store will holding a Book Fair-fundraiser to promote the “love of reading” on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event will take place in the St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School Library.

St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School students, parents and staff encourage you and your child to visit the Book Fair as it will connect students to the newest and best books that they are interested in reading.

Chapters will be bringing a wide selection of books, but suggestions and individual orders may be placed at stben_fundraiser@yahoo.ca
