About Shirley McKnightBorn in Sudbury, Shirley McKnight has been engaged in Education for 45 years. Shirley obtained her Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University and returned home to teach at the Sudbury Catholic School Board. Shirley thoroughly enjoyed her 18 years as a classroom teacher and 12 years as a Vice-Principal and Principal. Shirley retired in 2007 and soon after was presented with the opportunity to become a Sessional instructor in the Faculty of Education, at Laurentian University. For the past 14 years, she has been instructing Teacher Candidates, as they prepare to enter the field of Education. Shirley has also been a Faculty Advisor and a mentor for the teacher candidates during their teaching placements, providing them with feedback to improve their practice. . Shirley has been married for 46 years and has 2 sons. She enjoys spending time with her sons and their wives but most of all she treasures her time with her granddaughter. She was raised in the Catholic Faith. In her spare time, Shirley enjoys spending time at her cottage with family and friends, reading and Pilates. Zone 1 Schools |
