Explore Kindergarten at Sudbury Catholic
Our Kindergarten program provides a strong foundation for early learning in a safe, nurturing, and play-based environment. Designed to inspire growth and curiosity, it supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of every child, setting them up for success throughout their school career and beyond.
Fostering Belonging and Celebrating Potential
We believe that all children are competent, capable of complex thinking, curious, and rich in potential. We celebrate diversity, embracing the unique social, cultural and linguistic traditions our students bring to our school communities. As a Catholic school board, we are committed to fostering a sense of belonging for every child, ensuring they feel valued, respected, and supported in their educational journey. We create programs for our students that honour their strengths, nurture their abilities, and encourage them to thrive.
The Four Frames of the Kindergarten Program
Our Kindergarten program is built around four key frames of learning, as outlined in the Ministry of Education’s Kindergarten Program (2016). These frames were thoughtfully designed to align with the natural way children grow and explore the world. These frames focus on the most essential aspects of early childhood development while nurturing and supporting young learners as they discover, create and thrive. The four frames are:
- Belonging and contributing
- Self Regulating and Wellbeing
- Literacy and Mathematic Behaviours
- Problem Solving and Innovating
