On Monday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. the primary classes at
St. Charles Catholic elementary school, along with many other schools across Canada will be celebrating the third annual Music Monday. On that day the school’s students and staff will take their music program outside into the open air of their school ground to perform a short concert.

Students and staff at the school will be participating in this country wide effort to bring attention to the benefits of music in the schools belonging to the Sudbury Catholic District School Board and to recognize their appreciation of music in the curriculum.

There are presently 905 schools taking part in this event, 416 of which are from Ontario. Music Monday is spearheaded by Coalition for Music Education in Canada. The website is http://coalitionformusiced.ca/html/sec2-events/musicmonday/index.php.
