Roles and Responsibilities of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board Trustee
Our Board of Trustees is made up of six trustees and two student trustees. Board Trustees are elected every four years during the municipal election. They provide an important link between local communities and the school board, bringing the issues and concerns of their communities to board discussions and decision making.
Along with their obligations under the Education Act, our Catholic Trustees strive to create a faith community where religious instruction, religious practice, value formation, and faith development are integral to every area of the curriculum. As described in Renewing the Promise – A Pastoral Letter for Catholic Education (2018), “Trustees are entrusted with the profound responsibility of stewardship of the mission of Catholic education”.
