Sudbury Catholic Schools to Host Aboriginal Faith-Based Professional Development Day
On November 28, 2008 the Sudbury Catholic District School Board will be hosting an Aboriginal Faith-Based Professional Development Day for all Sudbury Catholic Schools staff. The theme of this day will be “Sudbury Catholic Schools… Creating Hopes and Dreams Through Excellence: Bwaajige Daa (Let’s All Dream Together)”.
Vendors and information booths will promote and share Aboriginal and Catholic resources and cultural artistry in the form of crafts, books, literature and artwork. The day will include a celebration of the Liturgy with First Nation Elders at 9:00 a.m. followed by a First Nation dancing and drumming exhibition at 11:00 a.m. At 1:00 p.m. Mr. David Bouchard, prominent Métis author and public speaker will make his keynote address to the audience.

Time: 8:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (lunch and snacks provided)
Participant Activity: As part of the P.D. Day morning, dancers will be asked to dance during the mass – offertory procession and also as a demonstration to honour and celebrate First Nation’s cultures.
